Biennial meeting on immunodeficiencies, held every second year for the immunology community working on immunodeficiency disorders on a continental scale.

ESID 2026 is the 22nd biennial meeting of the European Society for Immunodeficiencies and takes place at the Maastricht Exhibition and Conference Centre in Maastricht, the Netherlands. ESID was founded in 1994 as a non-profit association and works to improve knowledge in the field of primary immunodeficiency by encouraging research, developing educational programmes and fostering cooperation among all those involved in the diagnosis, treatment and management of these diseases. INGID and IPOPI, the international nursing group and the international patient organisation for primary immunodeficiencies, co-organise the meeting and contribute their own session tracks.

Under the scientific theme Translational Immunology Beyond Boundaries, the programme is built to link laboratory immunology to bedside practice. Plenary sessions address immune metabolism, pathway dissection and clinical translation, host-pathogen interaction, the thymus in immune tolerance, and artificial intelligence in inborn errors of immunity. Parallel and Meet-the-Expert sessions cover diagnostic challenges, newborn screening genetics, cell and gene therapy, NFkB defects, atopic disease, the intersection of immunology and haematology, and organ-specific complications of the gut, liver and lung. An Educational Day, working party meetings, e-posters, industry symposia and networking events complete the schedule.

Clinicians looking for an immunodeficiency conference in Europe with CME accreditation should note that an application is being made to the UEMS-EACCME for this meeting, and that EACCME credits can be converted into AMA PRA Category 1 Credits and recognised as accredited group learning under the Maintenance of Certification programme of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada. The previous edition in Marseille recorded 2,548 participants, with France, the United Kingdom, Italy, Germany, Spain, the United States, Turkey, the Netherlands, Switzerland and Belgium the most represented countries. The congress centre lies in the Randwyck district of Maastricht, about 250 metres from Maastricht-Randwyck railway station, with a shuttle bus running from the city centre and Maastricht Central Station.
