EACMFS 2026 Athens

September 15-18, 2026 | Athens, Athens, Greece

Organized by European Association for Cranio-Maxillo-Facial Surgery

Biennial scientific congress of the professional association for cranio-maxillo-facial surgery, devoted to oral and cranio-maxillo-facial surgery.

EACMFS 2026 is the 28th Congress of the European Association for Cranio-Maxillo-Facial Surgery, held in Athens, Greece under congress president Nicholas Kalavrezos. The association was founded in 1970 to promote cranio-maxillo-facial surgery in theory and practice and to establish uniform training requirements for the specialty in Europe, and to encourage those standards worldwide. Its biennial congress is the association's central scientific gathering, with the following editions already scheduled for Amsterdam in 2028 and Vienna in 2030.

Delegates searching for a maxillofacial surgery congress in Greece will find a programme built around twenty-four declared main topics. These include orthognathic surgery, surgical oncology and reconstruction, trauma and infection, TMJ pathology and facial pain, skull base and orbital surgery, oral pathology, skin tumours of the head and neck region, obstructive sleep apnoea, management of the difficult airway, and osteonecrosis of the jaws. Antenatal diagnosis, embryology and surgery of craniofacial and cleft malformations sit alongside regeneration, tissue engineering and cell therapy, while a forward-looking track covers new technologies, robotics and artificial intelligence. Aesthetic surgery, paediatric surgery, cancer biology and epidemiology, and sustainability in maxillofacial surgery round out the scientific offer.

The congress takes place at the Megaron Athens International Conference Centre on Vasilissis Sofias Avenue, a venue linked to Athens International Airport by direct metro in roughly 35 minutes and offering 750 on-site parking spaces. Beyond plenary and symposium formats the meeting offers masterclasses and hands-on workshops that are booked and priced separately from the main registration. Registration is tiered for EACMFS members, non-members, trainees, EBOMFS candidates, allied professionals and dental students, with reduced rates for participants from low-income and lower-middle-income countries. The organisers have applied for EACCME accreditation through the UEMS, with the number of European CME credits to be confirmed once the accreditation process is complete, so CME-seeking oral and maxillofacial surgeons should check the congress CME page before registering.
