The Joint Meeting ESPRAS & Swiss Plastic Surgery 2026 brings the European plastic surgery community to Bern under the motto United in the Heart of Europe. ESPRAS was founded in 1967 in the Netherlands and has been located in Basel, Switzerland since 2020; it federates national plastic surgery societies from Northern, Western, South-western, Central and Eastern and South-eastern Europe and represents more than 7,500 members across some 40 national societies. Pairing the European society's congress with the meeting of Swiss Plastic Surgery lets the Swiss host society present national work alongside pan-European faculty. The congress presidents are Prof. Dr. med. Mihai Constantinescu for Swiss Plastic Surgery and Prof. Dr. med. Dirk J. Schaefer, Vice-President of ESPRAS.

Surgeons looking for a plastic surgery congress in Switzerland will find a programme weighted towards both reconstructive and aesthetic practice, running from oncoplastic and implant-based breast reconstruction through to lymphoedema surgery, neurolymphatics and vascularized composite allotransplantation.
